sad, Goodbye Margot, its goodbye forever.

today.. in the morning, while i was still sleeping. margot, my rough coated collie passed away. when i found her in the morning, she was totally stiff and cold. i.e. lifeless. sighs. i wont forget her, ever. going to school and patting her for the very last time was very difficult. saying Goodbye for the last time was also awful. i feel torn to pieces. the time in school wasn't easy. though we had a workshop, i couldnt pay attention. my mind wandered to think of her, my friends and memories i have had with the dear doggie. coming home was also quite awful knowing that she wouldnt be at the gate waiting for me to step in. she was burried in the garden during the afternoon.

She was the best! i had so much fun training her. rewards ranged from treats to bits of apple to being tickled on her tummy (she LOVED that). margot was forever so obedient, forgiving- letting me get away with few handling errors and she taught me so much; what i did right and what i did wrong, barking on command, always coming when called, walking at heel no matter what, chasing after little a tennis ball or a frisbee and bringing them back. very sweet and affectionate, hanging around me or wen or mum and dad. she loved eating fruits and other sweet things. the last thing i trained her to do last week was to whine on command. that was so fun! teaching her something new was always fun. i cant bring myself to write anymore without crying so i will stop here with her photo at 2 years of age.

planted tank update!!

here is the update. yes i know. the left side is absolutely awful!! i removed the flower pot. i like the right side though... please give feedback on the set up. both negative and positive comments are appreciated .

24 hours, 3 feedings and 1 water change later, ALL THE FISH ARE STILL DOING FINE, FEEDING WELL and are looking good. colours are slowly ocming out. the blue stripe is more pronounced today.

its almost over

well, today is the first day of the sake noss regatta. its less than 1 week to the interschools and after that, i probably wont be sailing again for the rest of the year. i will miss everyone especially the people i met all those years ago while i was still sailing the optimist or topper. people like Feng Yi, Desiree, Yen Riel, Eugene. I love my the people who are in the squad at the moment. great bunch of people. for the first time we sat together after the boats had been taken off the water and just chatted. that was super duper nice!! man... i'm gonna miss it after the interschool. perhaps i'll keep sailing after the IGCSEs. its been a long time and today the wind was really strong and the water was very rough. so much so that when we were recovering, some of the boats were thrown by the waves into the shore which had rocks strewn all over the place resulting in many damages. thankfully, it didnt happen to my boat. i am glad everyone helped everyone else recover which sped up the process and i think it reduced damages. i'll miss the squad when i have a break for the exams. today's race? well, i've finished midfleet and i feel a bit sad that i do not sail as well as i used to but yet happy because i did my best and have no regrets about it. after all, strong wind and choppy water is not my strong point. oh well, tomorrow is a new day and i'll try to improve my results. hopefully i will so i can have fond memories of the last ranking race of the year.next target? interschool sailing championships!
